A tailored programme for players levelled 1.75 to 2.25
All of our Progression Academy courses consist of six consecutive weeks of coaching with the same coach and the same group of four players. You can either sign up as an individual, a pair, a trio or a full quartet.
If you sign up indvidually, you will be matched with other players who have the same availability as you. Any delay to your start date will be caused by the need for there to be four people available to start at the same time and day.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The six-week Progression Academy course is £85 for members and £100 for non-members.
Your course will run for six consecutive weeks and you will be billed for the sessions, whether you can come or not.
Once you have booked in, all the sessions will appear in your Schedule in the EGP App and can be paid weekly.
HOW MUCH IS IT?
At EGP, we want you to be able to develop your game at a pace that suits you and to make friendships in the sport that will give you the same love for padel that we have.
EGPA is designed to give you the tools to take the level that you currently have and progress to the next band with your skills set solidly on strong foundations. We will help you to catch the bad habits, correct them and increase your understanding of the game in a fun and inclusive environment.
WHAT IS THE EGPA & PATHWAY?
COURSE DETAILS
MODULE 1: Prepare, Position & Purpose
Master the 3Ps of Padel and you will be right on track to level up your game. Preparation, positioning and how those go together for the right outcome - the purpose - are crucial to making good decisions.
MODULE 2: Serve & Return
The key to getting those points going. We will work through the three key variations of a serve, when to use them and how to return them. Alongside this we will look at making sure that you are in the right place to maximise the advantage that your team serving brings.
MODULE 3: The Glass
Love it or hate it, you need to deal with it. This part of your course will teach you to treat the glass as the third player in your pairing. You’ll learn when to let it hit the glass and how to deal with that as well as the basics of the corners of the court.
MODULE 4: The Net & Volleys
It’s where the action is. We’ll show you why it matters and how you can start to control the most important part of the court. Solid net play will bring you great results and put pressure on your opponents.
MODULE 5: Bounce or Bandeja?
Part of controlling the net is knowing how to recover it when the opposition are trying to push you to the back of the court. The Bandeja is the key shot, used wisely, that will help you to retain the net and build pressure on the other side.
MODULE 6: Points
The business end of the game - points win prizes. Padel is about pressure and if you learn how to build this on the opposition from your side of the net, you will be well on your way to success. Remember, you do not win at Padel - you encourage the opposition to lose!
